David's Gone To a New Adventure

Jan 29, 2008 17:41

After almost 6 months of waiting my dear friend David finally made it to the other side today. I made it over at 1000 and Smiley said he'd been going downhill since 0430ish  but I held his had and talked to him. The room was pretty crowded with the spirits of people who were waiting for him; his brother, his dad and others I'd never met -- although ( Read more... )

Goodbye, David. Safe journey.

I'm sorry for your lose, river, but at the same, like you, I'm glad David isn't in pain anymore.

For David that's all I can really ask -- besides, I now have a new Guardian who can watch out for me when I drive "At a High Rate of Fuel Consumption" bless him, and that's one of his actual sayings. Katy said he said he was going to haunt her truck.

LOL! Yeah, they do that.

And, from my experience with my mom, they even figure out how to smack you upside the head when they think you need it.

I told Smiley to watch out about that. David was always after him with the spatula or a clout upside the head. He took it the hardest, poor guy and was trying so hard not to cry, since he'd been main caregiver for so long. I think he said a buddy of his was taking him out tonight and taking away his keys.

He promised to watch out for me and I know he'll hold to that promise. I'm just happy he's in no pain any more. Katy says most of the truck drivers in the net know about it already and have been calling her with condolences too.

Well if you need someone to ramble at, feel free. ::Hugs.:: Take care.

::hugs:: They do hang around for a while. I'm pretty sure my Dad dropped in to see his grandson(2 year old saying "Mommy Daddy!", smiling and waving a spoon at an empty hallway), and all those we loved that have passed on still check in on us from time to time. You did the best you could for him while he was still here, and that sort of devotion does not go unrewarded...

Oh I know. Children see so much more than most adults do. I still go out and talk to trees and my neices and nephews know that monsters are not allowed inside Aunties house -- unless they behave.
I'm just so glad David is free. I took a clipping off his schifflera last night and have it in water so hopefully it'll root. I'll call it David.
Thank you for all your support, too.
