Have you heard about the "Wash Away the Hate" Campaign? We are going to clean the capitol steps after they leave literally and figuratively. Peaceful, no contact with them, no additional attention to the fascists.
--- We will meet at the fountain one block south of the capitol at 5:30 and walk to the steps at 6:00. Everyone should bring a gallon jug of water and something to scrub with; no soap please, we don't want this to be dangerous!
Have you heard about the wash away the homos campaign?
We're going to be marching Lansing's entire homo and Jewish population out to a spot near Lake Erie right after the rally, then let the waters flood in and drown them.
And good luck getting through the city's "security fence". LOL
yeh, i have heard about the "wash away the hate" campaign. I think its a great idea! but i do think that a visible, vocal presence in direct opposition to their rally is also really necessary. the media is going to eat up a nazi rally whether or not there are counter protestors there. by us being there, we'll be able to draw some of that attention onto us, but most importantly, show them that they are not welcome and that we will not ignore them. it also shows the people of lansing (specifically residents of color, trans people, jewish folks and queers) that there are people ready to demonstrate in solidarity with them.
So, hope to see you at BOTH events!
ps...the annoymous comment posted after yours i think proves both our points...that they are not going away unless we rise up in opposition to them (non violently of course) and also that we need to end with something positive that allows us to move forward.
