My ex managed to pick a dentist that was by a miracle the most inconvienent for me, her and her new husband. Not sure if that was by design, luck or sheer stupidity

That is an awful dentist...they should have taken him to a pediatric dentist or someone who has worked with children...mine go to one through the military, but they have worked with a lot of children and talk to them and explain in ways children get...they have very few meltdowns...and they allow my kids to bring in an MP3 playing or some such to keep them occupied and their mind off what the dentist if doing....
She should have had the presence of mind to get in there and take him out...and make an apt elsewhere...or have them refer her to someone who knows how to work with kids...meaning she should have been a mom and not a sniveling baby...
He is a pediatric dentist. And that was the best they could do.
I talked to Sarah tonight, and she actually told me that she wanted to let Alex see me as the bad guy. That he would see me as the one who brought him trauma and she would bring him comfort.
I talked to Alex and told him how we were going to do that was going to make his next trip much less painful and much less traumatic.
I agree. You be there with your kid. No matter what. I got out to my car and was shaking for a good 20 minutes. But, I never let him see it.
I was talking to Mari this morning, and said she reminds me of that scene in The Incredibles where Mr. Incredible and Frozone are sitting in the car and Frozone is recounting his experience with one villian. And he says "and one more shot from the death ray and I was a goner. And then, what does he start doing?" And they both say "He monologues!" She does it. The evil villian who monologues. And she's using the kids as a death ray.
