I was in high school when the Smothers Brothers hit TV. Surprisingly my Mother loved the show. I have very fond memories of the series. It was quite controversial for TV at that time period. They had to fight the censors weekly to get skits on the air.

"Mom always liked you best!"

I watched old reruns of Smothers Brothers and then some live versions of Rowan and Martin's Laugh In - LOVED THEM!

ROFLMAO, yes... "Mom always liked you best!"

I was a child during this era but I remember both my parents watching " The Smothers Brothers." This was back during the era of Vietnam, Kent State, Fondue parties and singing groups like "Peter, Paul and Mary". Pat Paulsen was a great satirist and a delightful comedian.

Still, like you said, all these issues are so relevant for today. The debate continues . . . .

I was a child of the 70's, so I got a few episodes of the older series, along with Rowan and Martin's Laugh In.

I love Pat Paulsen. I could not stop laughing!

The debate continues indeed. *shakes head*
