i shall try! most of my writing urges are fed by roleplay (as edward on dreamwidth), but i really should try doing some fic stuff more frequently lmfao

Oh, fuuuuuckkk. This is pretty much everything I love about the darker side of Ed/Alfons, because in my mind, it is so so so confused with Ed/Al and you've portrayed that perfectly. I love the constant parallels and how Ed isn't even sure anymore and it's all so fucked up that he can't bring himself to care some days, and the reference to Al seeing through Alfons's eyes. THIS SHIP, MAN. IT WILL NEVER NOT KILL ME.

this is not his home and this is not his world and this is not his brother laying beneath him with eyes like summer skies. THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL, OMFG.

hahahah ty! i love that dynamic of ed/al/alfons' relationships too because ugggh, it's so heartbreaking and broken and gut wrenching, yet gorgeous in its breakdown. i could legit tl;dr forever about these three boys. and man, i'm so glad someone picked up on the al seeing through alfons' eyes because i wish more people played with that. can you imagine how much it would've screwed with al's head to realize the person he was seeing in his dreams was real and sacrificed his life to save ed? i just... guh.

but anyway! i'm rambling. thanks so much for reading and i'm glad you liked it! ♥

Noooo, ramble all you want, plz.

I haven't nearly enough post-CoS fic as I would like, because there is so much there to be explored. Like, what did Al think of Alfons? Ed didn't have nearly enough time to grieve him until he had Al back, so how did Al deal with that? How did Ed deal with that? Because he's happy--ecstatic, fucking exultant--that he has his brother back, but Ed is Ed so clearly he's overridden with guilt, too, because Alfons is dead, he died for Ed and it was all for nothing, in the end. And Al--love him to death and all--but he hasn't experienced anything like that (memories or no) and I don't think he'd know exactly what to do for Ed. Later, after he starts seeing counterparts, I'm sure he would understand, but not when Ed really needs him to. And yeah, not to mention what Alfons-dying-for-them would do to Al, because that would be terrible to deal with on Al's side, too.

But but there's also my headcanon the fact that Al will eventually look like Alfons??? Like, Ed says Alfons is a spitting image of Al ( ... )
