Poem: In The Trees

Jan 06, 2011 19:06

I was a tree you carved

Your name into me

I stood there tall

To remind you of

Who you are and you

Always came back to me

I was the only mirror

That would reveal

Even what you were

Afraid to see I was

The only honesty

In your entire life

You killed me

Eventually

You could not bide

The things I revealed

To you so you murdered

Me I lived on in your memory

Nowhere else now no one else will

Ever know me no one else

Will ever see the things you fear

To show so know only

You have won you should be

Proud only we both know

That in the end we will both

Suffer for all the many things

You fear to say out loud.
