Unlike a number of my friends, working from home has never been an option for me. Today it was even less so, as I was scheduled to teach an American Heart Association class (first aid and CPR) for the DOC. This is mandatory training for everyone involved, and not really something I could call off doing unless I was utterly buried by snow.

I never had to go anywhere so I was at home with movies all day although I did injure my back shoveling over a foot of heavy wet snow off of my front porch, walkway and sidewalk.

Ah... I see some comments are dated the 26th... must have been an edit update or something..

In any case, I'm glad you made it home alright. It was pretty nasty on my side of town. We already had 6 inches by 8am when I was going into work. Little cars kept stalling on hills because of the ice and caused backups on the way home, but I didn't see any crashes or anything, just slow and waiting.

I made a grammar correction at some point, probably on the 27th. I didn't realize it would change the date on me when I did that. The entry should now reflect the correct date.

Due to several very lucky traveling decisions on my part, I managed to avoid almost all of the usual snow related issues on the way home. I did have to deal with ice and white-out conditions, but sidestepped almost all the traffic, for which I was extremely grateful.
