It's been a relatively quiet weekend, though I've kept myself busy. Yesterday I went up to Salem and bought some unmentionables from Victoria's Secret, and then had lunch with my grandma and aunt and uncle and chatted with them for a bit. 13 x 9 pan, 400° F oven.

put 3 cups of rolled oats into a blender/processor and pulverize to a coarse powder. add 1t salt and 2/3 c sugar, pulse a few times. remove to a bowl. cut in 2 sticks of VERY COLD margarine.

pour 1/2 of mixture into pan and press down. top with 3 cups washed whole cranberries and sprinkle with 1 cup sugar (this recipe is very sweet, and it needs all of the sugar to get the right texture at the end). top with remaining oat mixture.

bake 60ish minutes, until the filling is bubbly and the top is well browned. LET COOL COMPLETELY. then cut into bars.

they are SO YUMMY and really easy.

That sounds really yummy! I'll have to try it! I think it's easier to find cranberries now than it was earlier in the year.

You could make it a potluck so you don't have to do so much work. (Unless you want to - sometimes there's fun in that!)

That might be nice. I'll have to see what Cory thinks about it; I s'pose most people wouldn't be too upset if they had to bring something little...
