I'm sure glad I have family in central Oregon, because driving all that way to talk to a guy for 45 minutes about how he doesn't have a job for me is kind of a waste. I mean, I pretty much knew that there wasn't any more room for me there but still. He could have just told me over the phone to look for jobs at the hospitals and school districts

Did you ever figure out what the shiny box was? Maybe you need a megaphone so you can call out and tell them you will grind their bones to make your bread!

I didn't figure out what it was! I need binoculars. Or better glasses. They were probably doing something official and legit, but they should have checked in with me before they did, if they were legit.
