I hear you and completely agree. And it's insulting that women are not credited for putting much thought and consideration into their choices. Before using clomid, I had to decide - could I go through a reduction if I had triplets (or more). I mean, it's still something that I'm not completely settled about, even though I know I would end up making the prudent medical decision.
I had to go through the exact same thing. It was a big choice, and I hated having to think about that possibility in the midst of something like IVF. How can I want babies so badly and then have to figure out whether to reduce.
And I hate hate hate that taking a political stance over something like this often leads to critics referring to us as "one issue voters." Well, I'm sorry, but my health, my autonomy as a person, MY very "personhood"... that's an issue worth voting on. If I don't have control of my very self, what does all the rest matter?
Men can't be considered "one issue voters" on this kind of issue because no one is trying to control their bodies.
