I think your reasoning is very sound, and I envy you the opportunity! (Not to mention having greatly enjoyed vicariously experiencing your travels so far.) If you can -- you should! We'll all still be here when you get back...

Ditto. Of course, it's been 15 years since I was there (and I had a least a smattering of Slavic languages under my belt at the time), but I have very fond memories.

One big question: do you see this as a one-time life experience being an ex-pat, or is this an investment in setting down additional roots throughout the world to be visited throughout your life? It sounds like the latter, which I think is pretty dang cool.

Having said that, the reasons you list seem to lean towards Barcelona. Do you have a timeline for potentially expanding your Aussie biz? Would three months in Spain followed by three months in Hong Kong be spreading the experience too thin?

Wow, what an adventure. If you can afford it and you're at a point in your life where you can take the time, grab it!

what happened to Dubai?
Also a Dublin winter sounds just as bad as a Stockholm one. But i'd follow you there. There would just be a good chance you'd break up with me in a Stockholm winter.
