new writing

This is mainly for Lou and Raynee to read, but hey if you want to read it then go for it mon amies! First time I've written anything for probably over 6 years.

It was raining. It was raining and Stephanie was bored. She looked out her living room window and sighed as the drops splashed onto her front steps. Plip plop plip plop. It was a beautiful and relaxing sound, but she was tired of it. The weatherman had said it was only going to rain for the first couple hours of the morning, and here it was lunch time and the sky was still grey as ever and the rain was still falling from the sky as steadily as earlier.

With one last sigh, Stephanie reached out for her phone to text her best friend, Lou.

Super bored. Come over and plan something with me.

Stephanie hit send and settled back into her plush blue couch to await an answer. Knowing Lou, it could be anywhere from two seconds to two hours. She ran a hand through her long brown hair and tucked a few stray strands behind her ear.

Ba-ding!

Obviously this was going to be a twenty second answer kind of day. She opened up the message and grinned.

No way. Last time I planned something with you I almost got arrested.

Oh, you did not!, Stephanie wrote back, Now get over here!

The response back was almost immediate.

It's raining out.

Lou you only live three apartments away. You won't melt! I need you to keep me entertained!

Three apartments too many.

Stephanie rolled her eyes as she wrote her next message. She knew exactly what to say to get her friend over to her place.

Adam is in his room sleeping. You can totes stare at him and he won't know it.

You didn't tell me your brother was home for the weekend!

Oops? So you coming or what?

I so hate you...

See you in five minutes bestie!

Whatever.

It was almost exactly five minutes later that the buzzer to Stephanie's apartment went off. She jumped from the couch and ran to the front door, grin on her face. Before Lou could even shake the water from her rain jacket, Stephanie had pulled her into the living room and started talking.

"Okay, so, I was thinking and I know what we should do!" she babbled as she resumed her seat on the couch, "Since it's raining out, and we're bored we should have a costume party tonight. I mean, so, we don't have any costumes yet, but I'm sure we can make something out of all the clothes in my closet, right? I've got a shit ton of old Halloween stuff, too. Oh, and my brother has some old clothes from high school in his closet that he never threw out, so we could probably use them if we need to. And then--"

"Whoa!" Lou interrupted as her friend paused to take a breath, "First off, slow down because you're making my head spin, man! Secondly, who are we going to invite?" She shook out a few drops of water from her blonde ponytail as she tossed her jacket to the coffee table and took a seat next to Stephanie. "And third, where's that hot brother of yours?"

"Obviously we invite Raynee or she'll kill us, duh! Then we invite the cute guys that live upstairs. Oh, and a couple of Adam's friends. And seriously, ew? My brother is not that hot." The brunette paused and squinted her eyes as she thought. "Actually I guess he is okay to look at, I mean, he's related to me so he's got to be a bit attractive, right? Oh, speaking of my brother, did I tell you that he broke up with his girlfriend last week?"

"Bout time he dumped that bimbo..."

Stephanie picked up her cell and quickly brought up a new text message.

"I'll send Raynee the invite now so she can start planning her outfit. I bet she'll just end up wearing her scrubs from work though...she practically lives in those things."

Lou rubbed her hands together and stared down the hall towards the bedrooms. She had a gleam in her eyes as a smile slowly crept over her face.

"Right, well you invite everyone else and I'll go invite your brother. It's only the neighborly thing to do." She stood up, grin growing bigger. "Maybe he needs consoling after that horrible breakup he had to go through."

"Just make sure to wipe the drool off your chin first!"

"Oh, shut up!"

And with that, Lou started down the hall and to her goal--the man she deemed a Greek god, her best friend's older half-brother, Adam Copeland. She envisioned his strong tan shoulders and dark blond hair that curled under his ears in the most adorable way possible. So what if he was like ten years older than her?Older just meant more experience. And if he was home after breaking up with Beth, that meant he might just be home for good. If he stayed at Stephanie's apartment, Lou would be able to see him every day. And the closer they were in distance, the closer they would obviously become in relationship status. Her hands grew damp as she got closer to the door. She wiped them onto her jeans and put a small smile on her face as she knocked softly on the bedroom door.

"Fuck off, Steph! I told you I don't feel like playing Black Ops with you right now."

"Um, hey Adam. It's me, Lou." She cracked the door open and poked her head through. "I, um, just came to tell you that apparently we're having a party tonight."

A blond head raised itself from the pile of pillows at the top of the bed and Lou's eyebrows went up in shock. Her friend had forgotten to mention that Adam had cut off all his hair since he'd last visited his family. Well, it was definitely different, she supposed, but not too bad.

"Oh, sorry. Steph's been bugging me to play games with her all morning and I'm not up for it." Adam scratched at his bare chest and grinned. "You get new glasses, Lou?"

Lou touched her new purple frames nervously.

"Yeah. Last week. My cat broke my old ones..."

"Fucking cats," he yawned, stretching his long lean frame, "Can't stand 'em. Do me a favor and turn on my light?" He grinned again as Lou flipped the light switch next to the door. "So, party, huh?"

"Yeah. Steph is bored so I guess I'm helping her throw a costume party tonight."

"Sounds like my crazy sister. I guess since I'm staying here for awhile I have to go?"

"Oh." Lou's eyes widened as she tried to feign innocence, "Are you home for a few days or what?"

"Not sure." Adam replied. He rolled out of bed, clad only in a tiny pair of black boxer briefs, and joined Lou in the hallway. "Might be a bit. Think I'll move back into the city."

Lou tried not to stare at Adam's near naked body as he stretched again. Personally, she had no problem with his nakedness, but she figured it might get weird if she continually stared at his outlined package. Her cheeks flushed and she tried to remain casual.

"That's, um, cool."

"Yeah." Adam sauntered into the bathroom across the hall, his muscles rippling. "See you later, Lou."

"Uh...huh..."

There was a tap on the wall next to her head, and Lou jumped.

Stephanie stood next to her friend, a big smirk on her face.

"You're drooling, Lou-Lou."

"Oh."

"Whatever." Stephanie waved her hand in the air as she changed the subject. "So, Raynee is all set to be here in like two hours after she gets off from the hospital. And she said she wants to bring some guy that just started in the pharmacy last week. Apparently he's like super cute and she wants his bod or something. His name is Dean." Sighing, she continued, "I told her to make sure she actually TRIED with her costume this time, but you know it's a fucking waste. I mean, I know she's like this big wig doctor and is awesome and everything, but she has GOT to get out of the scrubs sometimes. How is she supposed to snag this Dean guy if she doesn't accentuate her boobs? Right?"

There was no answer and Stephanie looked at her friend again. Lou's eyes were glazed over as she leaned against the wall, staring at the closed bathroom door. Stephanie could only imagine what sick and perverted thoughts the blonde was having about her brother. Ick! She rolled her eyes and made her way back into the living room, ticking off the list of invites she had to send out still.

That's all for now folks!!!
