After Monday rehearsal I was feeling pretty good. I know ACT 3 pretty well. However last night I was horrible with ACT 1 and 2. I can do the lines with my tape in the car but when I was onstage I did not do well. I cannot get a handle on this character and memorizing lines for Light Up the Sky. The director says the character (Carleton Fitzgerald) is supposed to be "phony" but she wants it played with sincerity. I don't quite understand it. OMG the TMJ pain has just hit me incredibly hard all of sudden. Pain in neck, shoulders, jaw, sinuses, eyes and headache. Please let there be Advil and vicodin in my car. Yesterday I was feeling real low. Tired, could cry at the drop of hat, not wanting to do anything. I think it is because of the start of the firsts without my Mom. Yesterday was my *gasp* 51st birthday. I spent it performing in A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum. The plan was after the show we were going to drop the scrim and watch Reefer Madness the Musical however we couldn't figure out how to connect the dvd player to the house sound. Today I got the "Tireless Award for Service". It is a feel good award that we pass around the staff. You get it for a week and then pass it on. The PE teacher gave me the award along with $5 for the coffee stand. He gave it to me for my enthusiasm in what I do with music while at work and theatre in the evenings. Today is my first day back teaching this week. I took the last 3 days off. I fell on stage on Friday night and by Sunday night I couldn't sleep because of my TMJ disorder.
