I was expecting something much better, given it was Lee. It was this really nice day and my entire office in Ann Arbor decided to knock off early to see it at this little theater down the block. I was very surprisingly angry at how hamfisted and obvious the damn thing was.

Which reminds me, Eric Miller hated American Beauty for the plastic bag. Whenever I see a stray plastic bag, I always say to myself, "Oh look, the most beautiful thing in the world," and think of him, ranting about how much he hated that movie.

It takes a remarkable movie film to make someone that pissed off when they are that starved for something, anything new for their entertaInment.
Soon thereafter i was in China and got to buy first-run DVD's for a buck a piece. I still cherish my copy of Sweet and Lowdown.
Forrest Gump makes me pretty angry. I could go on, but for me, Forrest Gump is the exemplar.

But that's also a good point- if a film makes you feel something strongly, that is almost better than indifference and forgetting the thing as soon as you hit the sidewalk outside the theater.
