I arrived in Melbourne two days ago, on the 25th. I'm staying at a friends place. Had quite the final ride into Melbourne. It was about 126 km in total!

Melbourne is really interesting, there's so much to see!

All for now, alas, my free interet time has just run out. :o

So, I'm currently between 150 and 100 km away from Melbourne. Was going to go to Wilson's Prom. today, but felt awful and there was an impressive headwind against me, so I nixed that. Rained this morning, thankfully that's passed! Not feeling so hot health wise, it will be really good to get to Melbourne. Road the great Southern Rail Trail ( Read more... )

So, I made it through the thick of the south east corner of Australia. I think I would not take that route again, it's pretty dangerous. Lots of logging trucks, and narrow roads! But I survived, and no worse for wear ( Read more... )

In Eden now. Apparently the next 200 km or so is "redneck country". Saw a hedgehog this morning! Just trying to decide whether I do the next leg of my journey, (75 km) or stay here for they day and go tomorrow...

So I got back on the road yesterday, heading through historic central Tilba (VERY pretty country side!), Tilba Tilba, and making my way to Bermagui. So I'm in Narooma, NSW Australia. Decided to spend a day in the town (and let my legs rest!) At a YHA, the owners are so nice. They have a stable of bikes, I rode a dual suspension mountain bike really slowly around town, and checked out the beaches. Chilly weather.

So, the biking's been alright. Biked 113 km one day! Usually it's around 60 km though, which means it'll take me forever to get to Melbourne at this rate.. :P ( Read more... )
