That's right, we won't be getting one, but TWO movies in summer 2014! :D

Awesome! I'm glad they saw the wisdom of making two movies instead of trying to squeeze everything into one; I have high hopes for this now. I really can't wait to see the new cast members...Would it be safe to assume that Misao and Aoshi will be appearing? I hope they don't get written out...

Exactly, the Kyoto arc is way too epic for just one movie (seriously, how would one make Shishio's madness AND Hiko's ego fit into a single movie?).
I hope the entire crew of the first movie comes back; they did such a good job.
Oh man yes, they better give us a decent Misao and Aoshi... The fans would go mad otherwise!

But if the Oniwabanshuu do appear in this, their entire relationship with Kenshin will be different because they weren't involved in the Kanryuu affair. There will be no grudge between Kenshin and Aoshi over the deaths of Aoshi's four men.

True... They could always say their grudge dates back to the Bakumatsu but yes, it wouldn't be the same... Two movies leaves time for development; I guess we'll know more in a few months (oh the waiiiiiiiiiitttttttt) ^^

Assuming RK live action is going to be a trilogy, that will leave no room for a live action adaptation of the Revenge Arc.

Did they specifically mention a trilogy? Or did we just assume this because there are three arcs in the manga?
I really, reeeaaaaally hope they do adapt the Revenge Arc - there's never been a proper one!

Oooh, late to the party, but .... YAY!!!!!!!! OMG, so excited!! I can't wait to see what the casting is going to look like for Hiko, Shishio, and the Oniwabanshuu!!!!

(Hiko ...my god ... who in RL is going to be able to maintain that level of awesome?)

I know, right??? :D :D *dances*

(That's why they need two movies: there's too much AWESOME in the Kyoto arc for one! :D)

(There should be an epic NHK Taiga drama series about the awesome that is Hiko. I see only two problems: 1) they'd probably want to cast one of the JE boys, and 2) I think RK canon probably doesn't fit NHK's criteria for "historical")

Does Hiko have a set backstory? If not, they could totally make it historically accurate enough.
Tsss, Johnny's boys couldn't handle Hiko's ego. Just... no.

YAY! I We get to see Takeru as Kenshin twice in one summer!! Heeeeee!! AND since the first movie was amazing after all my fears, I have no doubt these Kyoto movies will be just as amazing! I wished Aoshi was incorporated into the first movie, though, 'cause I loved what he added in Kyoto...so that'll be interesting to see in these movies. It's impossible to have movies about the Kyoto arc without the Oniwaban-shuu~!

*elated*

There apparently is at least Aoshi! No word on the entire Oniwaban-shuu yet. But they know they're fan favorites, I doubt they would leave them out entirely. They're making two movies, they should have time to introduce new characters and explain their backstories! *fingers crossed*

I'm still not over how EXCELLENT Takeru was as Kenshin. He was absolutely perfect, both in Battousai and Adorable Rurouni mode! *_______*
