Hmm. I wonder about this study. Too many 'self-rated' questions and I am concerned about their underlying assumptions. Some relationships are different than others, for instance, but...not more socially valuable and...the idea of devoting more attention to a relationship because it gains me something 'in public' or socially...is ethically banal. I don't like the idea of primary/secondary/etc. But...people bond on different levels, with different levels of intimacy and intensity. It doesn't ever make one relationship more valuable than another. Just...different. And sometimes more 'immediate' or helpful to your coping with a life crisis or something. At that point in time. Even most studies on life-long monogamous partners find that it is a series of falling back in love with your spouse again. /rant
