A quandary

For some reason, I've gotten the urge to order a bunch of Looney Toons DVDs (specifically, the six-volume "golden" collection). Looking around, though, it seems like the best option is Amazon, where I can get them all shipped for ~$180 (after shipping; I don't know if I need to pay the HST when that crosses the border ( Read more... )

I think it boils down to "Can you afford the price of your principles?".
If the price is that much lower, can you afford to buy it at the regular price otherwise?

I admit it: I'm not a principled individual. To me, sticking to them excessively amounts to pure stubborness, and an unwillingness to seek a reasonable compromise.

However, I was expecting myself to last a bit longer before something pulled me back to Amazon. At least a year…

I know all too well that you got burned once before by them. I know Looney Tunes is an all-time classic, I would imagine there must be another way to find the collection (as opposed to having to go through Amazon). Perhaps you can ask a fellow Canadian about it who's ordered the collection (or a previous one) or something.

Ultimitely, the decision is yours. Tread with caution.

Truth be told, one of the reasons I'm being tempted to order from Amazon.com is that all other sources both:
  1. Only have a small part of the collection
  2. Charge about twice as much
