Why I Would Make A Terrible Businessman

I had a fit of ideology today. That's really a good thing, since it's been a while since I had one of those. A class of mine is reading "The Omnivore's Dilemma," which is a pretty awesome book. This was a really cute entry. It reminded me of a children's book, kind of, in a green economic sort of way, I suppose. If only you had a picture of the whole apple at the very beginning.

I thought the first apple picture was supposed to be some sort of play on Apple the computer company at first. The picture at the end cracked me up, for some reason.

your argument is from a physical standpoint.

energy in>energy out

i think that one of the laws of thermodynamics mandates this. entropy will always increase in the greater picture.

so really, life is unsustainable. existing is unsustainable. having concrete matter is unsustainable.

but i do agree with you. big business should buck the trend and favor sustainability over profit. unfortunately, that is the product of capitalism. our flavor of capitalism anyway. have you seen the corporation? it's a fantastic documentary, i think you would enjoy it.

i just like poking holes in your argument. i always have. hehe

Capitalism is the American way. Without a promise of profit, why would any farmer grow anything? Corporations have a responsiblity to their stockholders to make money. People invest their money to make money not to make the enviroment better. I suggest you read some Milton Friedman my friend.
