I so wish I'd been able to hear that speech -- the excerpts alone are really wonderful. I love the idea of tweetchats but every time they show up in my timeline they stress me out.

I'm with you, Deva, on wishing I'd heard that speech. Up until then, I was congratulating myself for not have gotten stuck in the travel nightmare snowstorm. And then I began reading the tweets of that speech. Then I regretted not being there.

And I say exactly to your EXACTLY. None of this is stuff we can control and none of it affects my desire to tell stories.
I love your point about commenting thoughtfully on others' blogs being just as productive/important as one's own blog posts. I'm going to think on that some and possibly incorporate that into my new approach.
