hand shake 101slightnessAugust 19 2004, 18:21:52 UTC
I was raised with good handshakes, it kind of runs in the family.
but whenever somebody (to completely sexist, its usually females) gives me there jello hand, i never hesitate to teach them the 'american business' handshake that I learned and perfected at washtneaw community college while I was about the age of 16 in my communications class. I always tell em, keep about 3-4 feet of distance, step in, reach, make 'thumb pit' contact, and shake up and down once. ONLY once. thats really important. Along with the whole firm hand thing.
whats weird is afterwards, people always mention how I was 'macking' on that particular lady, when its just one of my pet peeves that I'm trying to rid the world of.

i actually go for an up and a down, i dont want to leave the shaken unsatisfied. except whenever i shake a guys hand that has an alright handshake, they always feel the need to comment on mine. so not into that. thanks for the tutorial, you're making the world a better place.
