Obviously, Kaname is the Vampire Knight in the story. He's more favored than any other characters to Hino and
usually, Hino names the manga after the main male character.

*cough* I think the question is why Hino-sensei name this story Vampire Knight? It's such a... well... it's a name. Some people take the easy way and say, "Oh, it's Zero because he's the knight in Kaname's chessboard! Zero has White Lily and Bloody Rose. He's also Yuuki's protector!"
Man... here I am wondering where is his sword. Knights have sword, don't they? (This is such a bs.) *cough*
I don't really care who is the knight; I don't even like the title of this story. Why is it called VK anyway, besides the main male character thing? Vampire Knight can refer to anyone in the series, regardless of gender and importance. Simply discarding Kaname because he's the King in his chessboard doesn't mean he cannot be a Knight. It just means that he has more authority to be at a higher level than a knight. The King in his chessboard ain't useless. The Queen, if it's Yuuki, is still useless atm.
*cough* Makes me wish authors show their bias freely.

The only reason why I keep on reading this story no matter how much I tell myself to drop the series once and for all is because of Kaname. I'm generally bored with the story along with certain fans' issues. Can't it end already?
The story isn't about one person only... I sort of understand your frustration about Zero and his fans... it's not just about Zero, Zero, Zero... and Zero. *cough*
