Had a lovely night with Neil Thursday night. He took Spartacus to the cardiologist on Thursday morning to get a heart murmur checked out; it looks like the little guy is going to be all right, which is a relief. We watched Near Dark and Predator 2 and drank a bottle of wine and talked about current events and just generally had a lovely time.
My new birth control prescription so far seems to be a big improvement, and getting my sex drive back really helped things with Neil in that area.
Also, he apparently has already made us a reservation at one of the nicest restaurants in Dupont for Valentine's Day, which is marvelous. So yes, that situation has gotten much more positive recently.
Today I have:
-Vacuumed the house
-Hung my horror icons pictures in the stairwell
-Taken down the old white plastic Venetian blinds in the living room and hung the wooden ones that were hanging upstairs when I bought the condo
-Dusted the new blinds
-Gotten rid of all the leaves, trash and construction debris that collected on the patio all winter
-Cleaned some scuzzy spots on the laminate floor downstairs
-Done the ironing (using my new iron and ironing board for the first time)
-Tidied my bedroom, putting all the clothes and such away
-Hung up a picture I bought months ago in my bedroom
-Hung up my jewelry organizer in my closet
-Hot-glued the clock I bought months ago -- I bought it used and it didn't work, so I had to take it apart, buy a new clock movement, and put it back together
-Put the clean dishes away
-Cleared off the kitchen table
-Tidied up the spare bedroom
-Got the spring clothes out, packed up the clubbing clothes, which I doubt I'll need anytime soon
-Put away in a closet the things I need to take to Goodwill
-Used construction adhesive to seal down the rest of the thresholds in the living room
-Fixed the latch on the patio gate
-Bought my bus ticket for the next New York trip at the end of February
-Emailed No Inside Voice Boss to ask for that Friday off
-Went through a box of stuff I moved over from my parents' house and discovered craft projects I started, literally, 20 years ago -- they're vintage now
-Ordered two fabulous retro kitsch photos the right size for my fabulous retro kitsch picture frames
-Made Door a toy out of string and a wine cork
-Hung up the clock and all the pictures I've been meaning to hang in the kitchen
-Raid-ified what looked like insect eggs on my porch door
-Learned an important lesson about moderation with garlic (I've only recently discovered excellence of using actual garlic instead of garlic powder, and I have such fun chopping up the cloves that I sometimes go overboard)
Still on the list:
-Get my parents round with the nail gun to nail down the toe moldings
-Take my sewing machine to the repair shop
-Once I get the sewing machine back, finish my futon cover
-Choose, order and put up wall art for the living room
