If it helps, I accidentally got a couple teenagers arrested last summer. I just called because it was like 2 am and I had to work the next day and they were being obnoxiously loud in the parkinglot, but then one of them was a dumbass and threw something into the woods as the cops drove up, and it turned into a drug bust. And all I wanted was for the cops to make them go home. >_>

Don't feel guilty. You did the right thing.

1) Fights turn nasty. Someone asked for you to call the police, you did without filtering it. It's then the cops job to do the rest. If it was just a minor dispute, well, we would have paid those cops anyway, so nothing lost. If you hadn't called, and something bad went wrong...

2) You left all your information, and you were not the only informed party, and there were people (staff) guaranteed to be there when the cops showed. You weren't obligated to stay.

Okay, so maybe I'm whipping out too much psych degree here, but there reason you probably feel guilty is mostly because you didn't get closure. Shit happened. You were involved. You don't know how it ended. Your mind begins to cook up all the ways shit could go bad, and then ways you should have stayed involved in order to prevent it. The mind searching for closure.

You responded, with foresight even, when others did not. You get a goldstar.
