My View on the issue of the week: tea parties

So I've put a lot of thought into the tea party thing, and while I liked the video they put out on Youtube, I don't really agree with a lot of the stuff people are talking about, nor do I even agree with a lot of the principles they're talking about.

I agree with the majority of what you've said here. Of course, I can't agree with your assessment of your girlfriend's personal irrationality. But, I can agree that your description of her opinion is quite irrational.

I often wonder how people can go around not realizing how things work in the world around them. Are there really so few people around who question and analyze such things, rather than simply expecting them to always do/act/think the way they want them to?

What I'm trying to say is, I feel you, man. I feel you.

Totally aggree with you Rich. I've got a couple of friends here that compain about a similar tax situation. Mine balances out at the end of the year normally and I was in a higher tax bracket than them. They are in a lower bracket and have someone how setup up their taxes so they have to pay in at the end of the year but don't understand it is because they are paying less in they should and thus have more control. They don't want control though, they don't want to have to scramble at the end of the eyar to come up extra funds INSTEAD of either figuring their deductions right or doing a little math, find out what they are going to owe and set that money aside each month into savings to draw interest. They don't understand that you can figure your taxes ahead of time if you know your income isn't going to change dramatically. Taxes are easy, it just requires effort ( ... )

Well you can definitely push the envelope on how little you pay to the government throughout the year, but yeah, you have to be careful or end up paying a penalty. But thats part of the whole point of "gaming" the tax system, they'll gladly hold your money hostage throughout the year and give it back to you like they've done "you" a favor, no problem with doing the reverse a bit and getting the interest yourself.
