Car: Acquired

Jul 22, 2007 20:31

Yeah, I bought the car I posted about last time. I like it. I like it a lot. http://rmitz.org/AT-D5D72D7.pdf

It'll take me some more practice to get smooth with the stick, but that's OK. Thanks to Kelli for driving out with me.

That was never really the hard part for me...it's more, I need to know what theoretically optimal shifting is like, because I don't know in which direction to adjust things, necessarily. But I already feel relatively comfortable.

Some of it is really knowing the roads that you are traveling on. When I drove a standard all the time, I would start to auto shift (naturally) and then when I hadn't driven it for a while and then drove one again I would want to automatically shift in certain places where it didn't seem to make sense until I got to the next bit of road and went "oh yeah.... that's why I wanted to shift back there.... "

Let the teasing about the early mid-life crisis commence! :)

In all seriousness, looks like a pretty sweet ride.

If he was all about the mid-life crisis, he would have picked up the 2004 Corvette Convertible with 8,000 miles on it for only $7K more...

That I *definitely* wouldn't have been able to fit in my garage. And only two seats.

Nah, I'm sure I'll be fine. It's actually tons easier than driving Kelli's car. :)
