That was never really the hard part for me...it's more, I need to know what theoretically optimal shifting is like, because I don't know in which direction to adjust things, necessarily. But I already feel relatively comfortable.
Some of it is really knowing the roads that you are traveling on. When I drove a standard all the time, I would start to auto shift (naturally) and then when I hadn't driven it for a while and then drove one again I would want to automatically shift in certain places where it didn't seem to make sense until I got to the next bit of road and went "oh yeah.... that's why I wanted to shift back there.... "
