The bottom layer of hell uses ice physics
Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen an instance of ice physics that actually made a game better as opposed to needlessly frustrating. I think it's just a general bad idea and shouldn't be used. -

Things that are meant to be scary should be shown once and never again. Things are scariest the first time you encounter them and don't know what it's going to do. On the second or third encounters, you start applying rules and logic to the thing that start making it less scary. The only exception to this is the Joker. -

So FF6 had this boss that comes back to life as a ghost after you kill it once, and you could insta-kill the ghost form with a Life spell or a phoenix down. One of these days I want to make a boss like that where the first form comes back to life if the player tries to kill the second form with a life spell, just to punish them for trying to take ( Read more... ) -

There's a fighting game of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure due to be out in Japan in August, and I'm really excited for it. At the same time though, it makes me wonder what a fighting game would be like if it actually incorporated JoJo-style battle mechanics. I really have no idea what the hell I'm doing, when it comes to drawing or writing music or making games. Half the time I just arbitrarily do stuff and the thing comes out way better than I could've ever imagined. The other half of the time the thing comes out awful and I throw it away. -

The gist of it was that one should aim to produce a manga that would be read until the end.
