[Tina's quarters - an unexpected message]

Dec 14, 2009 11:45

Tina had a while between the end of her shift in sickbay and her dinner plans with Len, so she went back to her quarters to change and relax for a while. She spent some time choosing a casual outfit, too charmed by Spock's reorganization of her closet to want to mess it all up again right away, and thus needing the extra minutes to figure out where he'd put the skirt and top she wanted. Then she changed, and fixed her hair. And she still had an hour or so.

She sat down at her desk and drummed her fingers. She knew what she should be doing with that time. She should be composing a message for her parents. They needed to know about her change in situation, and she needed to know how supportive they were going to be. Very, she suspected. But she also guessed that there would be some hand-wringing and tears along the way, which made putting it off pretty tempting.

Idly, she tapped on her console, paging through the last few messages she'd received from them while she pondered. And then - Huh. That was weird. She wasn't expecting to hear from her parents again until next week. Who would have sent her a message?

She clicked through to it, to see what it was.
