[Tina's quarters - u and me]

The nursery was finished. Everything at work was all set so that she could take her maternity leave without fretting about leaving things undone (Christine had arrived at a perfect time, really). Tina was beyond ready to go ahead and give birth. Just as soon as Darcy was ready.

She was about to start eating spicy foods and hunting around for stairs she could jump down, or something. What else did people joke about that might kick-start labor? Sex. But if that worked, then... Well.

Tina thought about whether or not James would think the myth was funny. Possibly. His sense of humor was pretty bawdy, but he was weird about anything to do with the baby. Which was a shame. It had been nice, to have him around, taking care of her. But she didn't have any illusions that he'd be as interested in staying over every night once Darcy was there. Even beyond the crying baby issues, sex would be totally out of the question for a while, and despite what James claimed, Tina didn't think there was much else holding his attention. And it was better if there wasn't. Because they had no future.

Still, maybe she was being unfair to him. She should talk to James about this stuff, instead of assuming. She'd bring it up tonight, she decided, as she brushed her teeth after a very spicy dinner. When - no, if. That was an assumption, too - he came over.

angsting for two, third time's the charm?
