humphrey bogart is indeed awesome. have you seen the maltese falcon. its fantastic.
that sounds like a pretty interesting discussion. how does the camera distort reality though? i mean it only captures so much in its little frame. can it ever truely capture a moment?
i also just saw following. that earlier christopher nolan flick. also an amazing movie.

The camera can distort reality a number of ways. Perspective, hidden views, motives, thoughts. Sequentially, i could show you a bunch of images in a row that have nothing to do with each other, and then the human mind would attempt to link them together.
At times, it can capture a moment... but others... it feels like it ruins it or feels like an invasion of it. Michael Moore for example has cameras on people who have been "victims" and leaves the camera on them for so long without any cuts in the editing to show how agonizing the moment is.
maybe the camera creates that moment. the camera is capturing the event, creating history. is the moment going to be remembered as it happened or as told by the camera?
do you have a break around thanksgiving? i'll be home for a couple of days and im gonna be looking to catch up with some of the folks i dont get to see very often.
