Date: December 26, 1999 Characters: Adrian Pucey, Hestia Jones Location: Hestia's flat Status: Private Summary: Hestia and Adrian have dinner Completion: Incomplete
Hestia had just removed the salmon fillets from the oven when the knock came at the door. She took a moment to check herself over, make sure she didn't have knickers strewn about. Her eyes fell on a stoppered vial sitting on the coffee table. She quickly removed the seal and drank down the contraceptive potion before tossing the empty vial in the trash. She wanted to be prepared for Adrian, but he didn't need physical evidence of it.
When she was satisfied that everything looked good, she opened the door.
"Hello," she said, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek. "Merlin, you're freezing! Come inside. I'll make some tea."
Adrian let her kiss him on the cheek as she let him into her flat. "Bloody British winters." He unwrapped his muffler and pulled the parcels from his cloak pockets.
"Mmmm yes. We should move the entire country to Bermuda," Hestia said, trying not to grin.
"Oh, you can put those on the table there," she said gesturing towards the coffee table, "and I can take your muffler." She hung it up carefully on the cloakrack. "So shall I get you some tea? Or would you prefer wine?"
Adrian resized his packages and placed them on the coffee table. He handed over his muffler and cloak and rubbed his hands together.
"Bermuda? I was thinking Australia, perhaps. I think I'll send some owls tomorrow, see if there are some suppliers in the Southern Hemisphere that need visiting. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her hello. "Wine, I think. I wasn't outside for that long."
"Your gift was more than adequate, Hestia." Adrian was surprised to find that it was true.
He grinned at her. "What, a simple clasp is beyond your Healer's capabilities? Remind me never to get sick." Adrian gave her a brief kiss so she'd know he was kidding her. "Which ankle would you prefer?"
