Ginny said hello to Angelina and thanked her for inviting her to the party before finding herself a bottle of butterbeer. She would save the champagne until later in the evening.

There were already a few people chatting, and Ginny smiled, wondering if anyone else would show up.

Katie found Angelina after she left Stephen. Thankfully, Dean wasn't anywhere nearby.

"Hey," she said, giving Ang a tight squeeze. "It's a lovely party so far. I put the spinach dip in Cho's apartment, if you want to give it a gander."

"Hey," Angelina said when she turned to see Katie. They hugged and she tried to relax. Nothing bad was going to happen. They were all adults, and everything would be fine.

"Oh, you know I never turn down food. Let's try it out," she said as she headed toward Cho's flat. "How was your Christmas then?"

"Ugh. Awkward," Katie said, making a face, "but never mind that." She steered Angelina towards the dip with an anxious face. "If it's horrible we can throw it out. I'll pop over to Tesco's and get some crisps."

"Did you at least enjoy some time with the children?" Angelina asked. She picked up a piece of bread and scooped the dip on it before popping it in her mouth. "Oh, 's good," she mumbled and chuckled. "Good," she said again after she swallowed.

George glanced around, spotting sweets on a table in Angelina's flat, and gestured to Verity. "Looks like your sort of thing is there," he said, passing her a small box of rather ordinary chocolates as well. "I'll figure out where this goes.

He'd managed a rather simple pot of little meat bits in sauce, and a few sampled bites hadn't killed him, so he'd brought it along to share. He found a spot for it in Cho's flat, then headed off in search of a drink.

After they got their drinks, Ron and Eloise decided to mingle separately. She'd walked off in one direction and Ron had gone in another. He'd passed from Cornfoot's flat into Cho's when he spotted George.

"Happy new year, favourite brother," he said with a grin.

George grinned. "Favourite? Wow. I've moved up... Happy new year yourself." He gave Ron a nudge, then poured a glass of some pinkish wine. Not like one glass would hurt, not after the belt he'd had with Rita.

"So what's new with you? Feels like I never see you. Ever." He took a sip. "Although I'll be living closer soon. Maybe we'll fix that."

"What? Who else would be?" Ron's affection for George had grown over the years, and now he positively admired his brother's efforts to rebuild his life.

Ron shrugged. "Not too much new, really," he said, sipping his drink. "What's this about you living closer soon? I thought you liked living at Grimmauld Place."

Verity took a box of sweets from George, juggling them with a platter of brownies and fudge. There couldn't ever be too many sweets, as far as she was concerned.

She added them to the table, nicking a piece of some sort of carroty-cake, then turned to see who else was around. She gave Dean a wave, and another for Lavender, then headed through to find something to drink.

Oliver had been looking forward to tonight for over a week now. He hadn't been sure he would stop by, but realized after talking to Ginny he had no reason not to.

Entering the party, he glanced around and smiled at several familiar faces. George was here, so he'd have to be sure to spend some time with him before the night was over. He spotted Verity, Katie, and Ginny, too. Should be a fun night.

Katie spotted Oliver and beamed. "Ollie!" She said, nearly tackling him as she grabbed him for a hug. She held on tight for a long long time.

"Missed you," she mumbled into his chest.

Oliver had just spotted the table with food when he was almost toppled over by Katie. "Merlin's balls, woman. You sure you shouldn't have been an American Football player?"

He squeezed her back and nodded. "Yeah. Missed you, too."

Katie grinned up at him. "What can I say? You taught me how to tackle well, Captain." She gave him an extra squeeze.

"What have you been up to?" She asked, grabbing a handful of crisps. She almost started eating them before remembering Oliver's appetite. She handed him the crisps and got herself some more.
