Sometimes the silence seemed almost too loud to bear. Not that that made any sense, but it was true nontheless. Gin was aware enough to know that she was being completely pathetic... she just couldn't really find it in herself to care.
She'd neglected George, and the shop, she'd not sent food, she'd not talked to anyone save Percy and occasionally mum and dad in the last few days. It just seemed like too much trouble. She couldn't bear thinking of explaining to everyone how stupid she'd been, and she couldn't bear thinking of how odd things felt with Neville, and she couldn't bear the ache that seemed to be a common presence in her chest since Fred had died.
Sleep would be brilliant. And she was damn close to breaking and telling Percy that yes, she needed the bloody potion and ignore what she said about not being weak. Clearly she was.
She curled tighter under the blankets when the knock came and sighed. "'s open," she said, not bothering to move.
