The Burrow was quiet when Harry woke. He threw the covers off of himself, rubbing his eyes tiredly. God, it had been good to sleep. Last night had been a blur of emotions and grief after what felt like a week of being awake. He couldn't remember ever feeling so drained. He reached blindly for his glasses, fingers fumbling over the tiny table by the bed across from Ron's. Slipping them onto his face, he sat up, noticing that Ron wasn't in bed. Probably in the loo.
Harry was out of bed already and rooting through his things for his shirt when he realised how rare it was that Ron woke before he did.
Frowning, he pulled his shirt over his head and turned back toward Ron's empty bed, moving quickly to snatch up the note he'd not noticed the first time. It was only about a line of words in Ron's scrawl, and even though it said clearly on there where he'd gone, Harry felt a lurching of worry in his chest be.
"Fuck, Ron," he sighed. God, his heart felt so heavy.
He needed to find Hermione. She wasn't in her room when he peeked quietly into the room she was sharing with Ginny. A quick search of the house later, and nothing. No one was really stirring, which wasn't surprising considering everything they'd been through. He tried not to worry as he went outside to see if she was there.
He found her on the ground in the yard, just sitting. Harry approached quietly and lowered to the ground next to her.
"Morning," he murmured, hoping there wasn't too much worry in his voice. "How are you?"
Uncrumpling the note that had become wrinkled in his restless hands, he handed it to Hermione. "So ... we should go, I think."
