Dear Sir/Madam,
The Department of Magical Law is currently gathering information for the case of the Wizarding World against Ms. Alecto Carrow. According to our records, you attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the school term that began September 2, 1997 and ended with the Battle of Hogwarts on May 19, 1998.
Ms. Carrow was employed as a Professor in the subject of Muggle Studies for the abridged school year, and we are seeking volunteers to give testimony regarding her behavior at the school and her treatment of the students and professors.
We are aware that Ms. Carrow bears the Dark Mark on her forearm, but that is not enough to guarantee that she will be convicted for her crimes. The Department of Magical Law needs willing testimony to present a full account of Ms. Carrow’s actions, either via written record presented to the Aurors in charge of this case or in willingness to stand before the Wizengamot at the time of her hearing. At this moment, we would prefer to develop the case based on testimony offered without being forced to compel the information from unwilling students/professors. If we can gather a strong enough case based on volunteers, there will be no need to contact those who don’t wish to participate in the trial process.
If you would like to offer evidence or testimony in the Ministry’s case again Ms. Carrow, please contact me at your earliest convenience. I am heading the fact gathering mission for Magical Law, and I will be able to arrange a time for you to interview with myself or one of my team at one of two locations, the Ministry of Magic or in a private room at the Three Broomsticks. I will do my best to reply to owls as quickly as I can, once I am able to determine the amount of interviews and plan a schedule.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
Cordially,
Senior Auror Miriam Davidson
