Summary: Cho starts her first full week of waiting tables at the tea shoppe.
Completion: Complete

Waiting tables was definitely harder than it looked. Cho had learned that the first few days she worked at Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shoppe. It wasn't always easy keeping track of the customers, making sure the orders she took went to the correct tables and - sometimes this was hardest - being pleasant, helpful and accurate all the time.

Cho had been to Madam Puddifoot's a few times while she was at Hogwarts. Not all of her memories of the shoppe were good, but that wasn't the fault of the food or the drink or the proprietor; it had more to do with her companions at the time. She'd been surprised when Madam Puddifoot offered her a job waiting tables a week ago. She'd started on Tuesday the 27th and on Friday the 30th of June, she got paid for the first time. In addition to getting more money than the biggest allowance her parents had ever given her, she got a sandwich, tea and a crumpet each day and one-fourth of the coins patrons left in a jar near the door. About one-third of her pay would go to Aberforth Dumbledore for the weekly rent on Cho's room above the Hog's Head. She only hoped she could find a different, and less grungy, place to live soon.

This afternoon her feet hurt; she'd spent the morning helping with repairs on the fifth floor of the castle, then came straight to work and spent the whole afternoon on her feet because the tea shoppe had been busy. It was about time to put a new cushioning charm in these shoes, she thought as she handed a menu to an elderly witch who'd taken a seat near the front window.
