Normally, when Deakes made some sort of off-colour comment about Bill's sex drive around the time of the moon (it was noticed by all and sundry at Gringotts, if only because of the shit-eating grin he wore the next day, looking utterly shagged out), Bill ignored it, or responded with, "Jealous? Might be able to set you up with a cousin, if you ask nice." This was, of course, all before Things Changed.
So when Deakes saw Bill Monday morning and jibed, "What's wrong, Weasley? Doesn't look like you got as much as usual. Wife on the rag?", Bill saw red. Literally. A blood vessel in his eyes, already bloodshot, burst and with a snarl, he lunged for the man.
When their superior finally separated them, Bill had bloodied the man's face, and his own was puffing up, and his ribs ached. Ralston took one look at both of them, and send Deakes off to get medical attention, before turning to Bill. "You're taking the day off. No buts. You've been off lately, and you know it. That fire shouldn't have happened last week, and you snap at people as much as you talk to them. Go. Fix whatever's going on. Tomorrow's soon enough."
With those words ringing in his ears, Bill left, at a loss completely. Fleur wouldn't likely be home, and considering how frayed his temper was, he didn't want to try and talk to her yet. He'd just make it worse, if that was even possible. He started walking, not really sure where he should go. His ribs ached, so he stopped at the Leaky Cauldron, figuring a pint ought to ease the ache, or at least pass the time and calm him down before he went home. He settled at a table in the corner, a pint and a plate of chips in front of him.
