"Minerva..."

"Oh, do be silent Phineas." Minerva took a deep breath and sighed, "I am sorry, Phineas. I realize you are only trying to help," in your own thoroughly obnoxious fashion, "but I cannot justify making the entire former sixth year class repeat an entire year. Especially not when we have gone out of our way to accommodate the former seventh year class. And before you say it, yes, I realize you did not approve of that either. Leave me be on this and concentrate instead on who I might find to teach Ancient Runes. Hortense Scribely has declined." Minerva held up the owl she received at lunch from her third inquiry for a Professor. Hortense would be pleased to teach the N.E.W.T. Prep but declined interest in teaching pre-O.W.L. classes or living in the castle. It was much the same as the response from the other two inquiries she made trying to fill the vacant post.

Minerva at least had some success with Muggle Studies. She had two interviews. One with a muggleborn who recently returned for hiding that Fleur Weasley had suggested because she had some teaching experience, although not academic, with teenagers. The second was a halfblood, muggle-raised wizard who lost his muggle wife this past year. Minerva had returned to Hogwarts as a widow herself and felt it might help him to have students that would need him. That he was a Gryffindor was also a plus. She would need another on staff to help with her House and possibly train to take over Head of House duties. Minerva looked over her schedule for the coming week and allowed herself a single groan before she forced herself back to work.
