We interrupt the 9 o'clock Flashback Hour to bring you urgent news that's just been released by Auror Robards on behalf of the Ministry of Magic.
Fenrir Greyback, the known werewolf who escaped from the Ministry on July 28th and was accused of multiple murder, was killed earlier this evening by Auror Franklin Jennings. We've been told that Mr. Greyback kidnapped 18-year-old Hermione Granger as she left Hogwarts this afternoon and was holding her against her will in Hogsmeade for an unspecified amount of time. Auror Jennings, a 12 year veteran of the Auror department, discovered the location where Mr. Greyback was keeping Miss Granger, and, during a brief struggle, Mr. Greyback was killed. It has been determined that the incident happened in self defense and there will be no charges filed against Auror Jennings.
There is also a rumor that Harry Potter and Ron Weasley participated in the rescue effort, but we have no confirmation at this time of any unauthorized personnel being involved. Miss Granger has been taken to St. Mungos, where she is undergoing treatment for injuries suffered during her captivity. We have been told that she is in stable condition and under observation.
The Ministry would like to to thank everyone who has submitted tips regarding Greyback's possible location, and would like to stress that they are no longer required.
