RP: Salutations

Jan 11, 2008 19:35

Date: 11 August, 1998
Characters: George Weasley, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley
Location: WWW, St. Mungo’s, The Burrow, wherever else people may be
Status: Private
Summary: George wraps gifts, reads the paper, finds out some news and sends a few owls
Completion: Incomplete

George had gotten up early to go downstairs and wrap the present he’d purchased for Ginny earlier in the week. He and Fred had actually discussed the plan for this year when she’d turned 16 the year before. George had now carried out the plot. The card would be from both of them. He was carting the thing upstairs, smiling and whistling a random tune, when the post owl arrived with his daily copy of the Prophet.

George fished around for a knut, paid the owl, grabbed a muffin out of a bag someone had fetched at some point from the bakery, and sat down to read, spelling the tea pot to steep. He put his feet up on the table and unrolled the parchment.

Moments later he was back in the shop, assembling things and hastily grabbing parchment.

Dear Hermione,

I’m terribly sorry to hear about your adventure. I thought you were giving those up. The Prophet says you are going to be fine and I’m sure you are surrounded, so I’m going to come bug you later in the week. In the meantime, I hope these tokens make you feel a bit better. Take care (seriously!) and send word if there is anything I can do.

George

*Sent with the owl are: A bundle of water-spitting daffodils, a Daydream charm, an assortment of non-hexed chocolates and….. a toilet seat.

Ron,

I just heard. Are you okay. Did you get hurt? Is there anything I can do? I know you must be more than a bit freaked out. Don’t worry about work or anything else. If you need someone to talk to you know where I am, yeah? Take care and don’t forget I love you.

George

P.S. I’m serious about letting me know what you need.

George sent these things off then went back to his previous business of breakfast and birthdays. Hermione would be alright. If she had been at death’s door then someone in the family would surely have floo’d him, or at the very least sent an owl. He’d enquire more at the party - after they’d had cake.

Ginevra M,

It has come to my attention that you have recently had an ‘event’. This event has, as a result, caused you to join at last the dastardly ranks of those considered - gasp - Adults!

HAPPY!!!!! BIRTHDAY!!!!

Lee and I will be there tonight with bells on. In the meantime, I’m sending you your very first present. After all, might as well learn first hand what it’s like to be old.

Love you,

George

P.S. Obviously, this is not your real present. You have to wait for that.

*Sent with the owl is one small box of U-No-Poo
