Dear Headmistress:
I apologize that it's taken me so long to respond to you with more information about the proposed Memorial Garden, I have no excuse so will offer none, accept my apologies.
I have spoken with Professor Sprout and she had some brilliant ideas for it, I think.
She suggested roses and maybe other flowers in place of trees, but maybe we could have some trees. And maybe making it a possible extra credit project for NEWT level students? And maybe start a club to get volunteers.
And we'd have to write letters to the families getting their permission and input. If you approve this, would you be willing to help or at least oversee the wording?
Fundraising: we thought that could be a student organized thing, but I was wondering if maybe you or someone had contacts for maybe an exhibition Quidditch match...a pass the plate or hat sort of thing, to get started.
She also mentioned seeing if Professor Vector had a student who would be willing to help with the fundraising, accounting and logistics.
I think it is doable, it may take some adjustments, and more time than I originally thought, but Professor Sprout agrees it'd be worth it.
I still don't know where to put it though. I' thought I'd ask Neville to walk the grounds with and look for a spot, but I also wanted to ask if you had any suggestions on the matter?
And if it is too big for one area, maybe we could spread it around the grounds? I just don't want to give up or lose this, if you are amenable.

I have enclosed a copy of a letter I've sent to the Headmistress.
I was wondering if you were willing, and if you had time, to maybe walk the grounds with me and see if we could find a couple of possible spots for the Memorial Garden.
