It was weird being back at Hogwarts. Well, not Hogwarts exactly, but this new classroom and the entire schedule was just strange. Wayne wasn't one who put a lot into routines and what felt comfortable, but he had to admit that this didn't really feel like school. Not yet, at least.
He'd arrived at the gates early and had to pass through security before he was let inside. He understood why, course, but it was an adjustment he'd have to make. Once he got into the castle, he'd had to remind himself not to go to the familiar classrooms or go down to the dorm to see it, for old time's sake. Instead, he'd had to go to this new classroom where they'd be taught Charms by someone other than Flitwick, which was also going to be weird.
He wasn't the first student to arrive, though some were revising in the common room and others had entered the classroom after him with books from the library. Seemed people were making use of that hour they'd been given in the mornings. Probably should have, too, but he figured he'd go to the library after lunch, since he didn't start work this week. Next week, he'd see about getting to the school early enough for the library. Not like he hadn't been awake at six, after all.
There was no sort of seating chart or division by House, which he had to admit was kinda cool. He loved being a Hufflepuff, but he was a lot more than a bloke who wore yellow occasionally to show House spirit. He sat down in the middle of the seats, not in the front where Granger would likely sit so she could wave her arm until it snapped out of the socket, and not in the back, where the quiet ones would be more comfortable. Now, all he had to do was wait for class to start and see who else was taking Charms this term.
