Summary: Revision group meeting
Completion: Incomplete
The meeting tonight was going to be more open and less organized than previous meetings. Actually, every meeting from here on would be this general, because classes had started and everyone had different areas where they needed to focus. Hermione didn't mind the lack of organization now, since they'd really only focused on particular subjects in order to get caught up. Now, the revision group could be used by anyone for whatever subjects were giving them the most trouble or that they wanted to review more in-depth.
Despite only attending two classes so far, she could already tell that it was going to be a busy few months. The professors were having to condense a year's worth of material into nearly half the time, after all, and do so in a four hour block that left many students shifting and restless from sitting so long. She didn't envy them their job at all, but she was grateful to them for trying. It was only fair, then, for those students who chose to get their NEWTs to put in some effort of their own. This wasn't something that could just be given to them, regardless of what they'd endured last year or done during the war.
In a way, she was really relieved to see that the professors were doing their jobs, as a part of her had worried classes might change in a way that spoonfed them information instead of making them work to learn. The desire to learn, or at least hopes for a future requiring NEWTs, had led all of the students here back, so it was nice that the professors realized that and didn't treat them like silly children who just wanted all the answers with no work, even if some students might very well prefer that method of teaching.
So far, she had taken Charms and Potions. The former had been pretty crowded and the latter had had older students who were taking that class, so it had been bigger than during sixth year, but neither had been impossible to control or provided a situation where learning wasn't possible. For the next six months, roughly, life seemed like it would contain a lot of reading and essays, which she was good at but would need to try to balance with everything else.
Having two jobs that combined to occupy her weekday afternoons and Saturday was new to her, of course, so it was going to take a new schedule and balancing to make sure she was able to do everything. She also did want to start H.E.R.O. soon, since it was delayed after her attack and she'd not really given it the attention it deserved since then, and she might need to speak to someone about everything that had happened with her, because Bill and Fleur might have a point but she wanted to analyze it a little more before making a decision, either way. Besides that, there was a need to finally start redecorating Grimmauld and try to see friends or people who might become better friends.
She sat down at one of the tables in the common room and opened her Charms book. It was going to be a busy six or so months, without a doubt. Fortunately, she preferred being busy to the alternative, so she had hopes that she could do everything she wanted or needed to do without too much stress. And, really, it should be easy compared to recent school years, when war had been happening outside the castle walls and Harry had been a target of a madman. With a resolved nod, she reached for her quill and began to take notes on the reading she'd completed yesterday.
