People were slowly making their way to the plot behind the Burrow. They came in twos and threes, supporting each other as they neared the small plot that had been the final resting place for generations of Weasleys. Fred's headstone stood out, large and new, and when the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, it reflected off the smooth stone, blinding the mourners. A cherry wood casket sat in the open grave, a bouquet of wild flowers resting on the lid.
The mourners shuffled into a loose circle around the grave, and waited, staring with blank or anguished faces.
The short tufty-haired Wizard who had presided at Bill and Fleur's wedding came forward and stood next to Fred's grave.
"Fred Weasley was a brave and energetic young man," he began, "No one who ever met him could ever forget him. He was, in a word, irreplaceable."
