Completion: Complete
Rushing into the Great Hall, Ginny ticked off her to-do list in her head. She’d spent her free period this morning preparing for tonight’s Astronomy practical, so that she would have the evening time before it free to work on other assignments. Every moment of her day seemed to be reserved for something.
Right now she needed to grab a proper meal before double Transfiguration, so that she didn’t pass out halfway through from malnourishment. Lately she’d used too many lunch and dinner periods for revising and not eating.
As she scanned the room to look for a place to sit, she spotted Hermione eating lunch, presumably alone, since she appeared to be engrossed in a book. Ginny never thought she’d see the day when she’d be apprehensive around Hermione, but there it was.
True, they’d never really had much in common as friends, not in the traditional sense. But they certainly had each other’s trust and respect. Now, though, Ginny wasn’t sure she had either from Hermione.
She only had herself to blame, she knew, for pushing her away - or maybe letting her drift - didn’t matter much which was the case, the result was the same. Her relationship with Hermione was only one unforeseen consequence of Ginny’s summer of isolation.
She was determined, though, to begin to mend the fences. Even if it took a while.
“Hello, Hermione. Mind if I join you?”
