Tuesday was Potions with Slughorn, who seemed to consider receiving an Order of Merlin to be worth even more arse kissing than normal. Since Hermione wasn't fond of that behavior normally, she was already frustrated with it after just two classes since the ball. She had hopes that he'd soon grow tired of offering insincere flattery when she and the boys just ignored it. If not, she might have to speak with him after class one day.
Still, the class had gone well enough, even if she missed Snape's class in regards to learning new things and being challenged. She loved working with Potions, especially when they were given something with a higher level of difficulty. She looked forward to getting into more complex potions as the school year progressed. Several of the things they'd been discussing recently were potions she'd learned years ago, though that was one of the negatives about working ahead.
She decided to eat lunch in the Great Hall today. After Potions, she generally didn't mind being around people so there was no need to eat in the common room or in her office at the Ministry in order for quiet time to think or read. She found a seat at the end of the Gryffindor table and sat down after taking a few minutes to speak with Dennis when he walked by. The roast beef and potatoes looked very good, so she decided to eat that instead of her sandwich she'd brought from home.
