Dearest mother,

It has been too long since I last came to see you. I intend to pay a visit to you both shortly, and would like very much to join you on a ride, if the weather permits. If there is any day that would be most convenient to you, please let me know.

Draco

---------------------------------------

Father,

I feel the need to speak to you about a few things. I will come on the day that will be the most convenient to you both.

Draco

---------------------------------------

Mrs. Andromeda Black Tonks,

I realise that Auror Robards may have spoken to you of my conduct already, and I also realise that it can't have pleased you. The old Draco would make excuses and explain the story from his own point of view. I do not suspect that you would go easy on him, in fact, I'm not entirely sure why you are holding back -- perhaps you are hoping I would do just this, write to you to apologise.

I know that, in securing my sentence, sincere and so far unappreciated efforts have been made on my behalf. I want to apologise for my own arrogance, and my lack of gratitude.

I understand that there may be a punishment for my actions, such as they are. I should have known better than to follow her. She made clear to me that many suspect that I am 'getting off scot free'. It would be kinder if I might change that image, and show some public sign of repentance. Your ideas in this matter, though I do not deserve them, would be appreciated.

Mr. D.A.Malfoy

---------------------------------------

Pansy,

I realised recently that my actions on your behalf might not be considered in anyone's best interests but my own. I realise that what you want most is to know what I want; but knowing what you want in return would be equally helpful. If you are anything like me, then you simply don't know what it is that you want in the first place; and so it is up to us to come to understand exactly what is is that we desire from each other.

Spending time in each other's company is the only way to achieve any progress. Join me for dinner some time this week. The Three Broomsticks isn't quite The Duck's Back, but the company is more important than the food.

Draco

---------------------------------------

For the eyes of Headmistress Minerva McGonagall only

Professor,

I have spent much of my life following the path that has been laid out before me, even though, often, it has lead me the wrong way. It was my own choice to follow that path. Now that I look, I find myself at a crossroads, quite incapable of deciding which way to go, but will not continue the way that I have been going.

I would like, at your convenience, to visit Hogwarts, and discuss with you my possible future. I realise that there can be no better person to make the decision than myself, but feel that there is no better person to advise me than yourself. You, who have advised many thousands of students through the years as to what to make of their futures.

Flattery, however, will get me nowhere. You will either see me or you will not, and I await your reply.

Kind regards,
Mr. D.A.Malfoy

---------------------------------------

Hermione,

I would like to try another visit to Muggle London, if you would do me the pleasure, perhaps some time next week. It is for Muggle culture that I would like to organise the visit, and so a museum or gallery might be a bonus, but it is not the purpose of the trip. If you are too busy, I would understand.

Yours,
D.A.Malfoy

---------------------------------------

Potter,

My disagreement with you last Wednesday was not, I think, suitable for either of us. I would like you to join me for nothing more than a drink, some time this week. No tricks, and no curses, and certainly no poison. A drink.

D.A.Malfoy

---------------------------------------

Cormac,

I realise that I have made enough trouble for you recently, but think that continuing our schemes of avoidance is unneccesary. I'd like to see you for lunch, whenever that is possible. You can take me somewhere in Muggle London. I'll try not to hold your hand.

Draco

---------------------------------------

Auror Gawain Robards,

I would like to apologise sincerely for my conduct last weekend. I do hope that Miss. Bell is not worse the wear.

Mr. D.A.Malfoy

---------------------------------------

Mon chere madamoiselle DuVal,

Drago Malfoy

After three days of writing, he finally had all the letters just as he wanted them to be. Reworded several times, with many of them thrown away, he had finally head to the post office and had them sent, relieved to get them gone, and returned to the Three Broomsticks to have a quick drink and calm his nerves. That was...almost the most frightening thing he'd ever done. Short of standing in front of the hearing and admitted every evil that he had done. Or standing in front of Voldemort and tell him how he had failed to kill Dumbledore... Actually, the letters weren't so bad. It was a step. A good step.
