George had been cooped up in the basement all day, making snackboxes and working on the no-dreams. He was stuck, and he hoped a little fresh air might do him some good. But it was--as the Muggles say--colder than a witch's tit (as if they knew.)
The idea had been to look around and get an idea about Cristmas gifts, but he thought after about ten minutes and a complete lack of enthusiasm that he might instead go for a bit of Irish Coffee at the pub. Or maybe he'd pick up some soup and have dinner with Lee in front of the fire.
Still, as he walked by the broom shop, he noticed a rather nice bound book about women in Quidditch that might have done for Ang or Al, so he considered going in for a bit. It was crowded inside, in spite of the chill, and walking into a crowd still was difficult without Fred.
