Molly checked on the goose. It was well on its way to being perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were sitting under a warming charm, the gravy beside them. Things had been okay, so far. She'd only had to duck into the bathroom a few times to cry or wipe her eyes. When she did, she'd look out to see the gnome and a few seconds of listening to him sing would have her smiling again. Maybe it wasn't so much a present for Fred as for herself, she thought. Whoever it was for, it was helping her through the day.
Knowing that they'd have a bit of company, Molly'd added a folding table on to their large wooden one to accommodate their guests. It would be rather tight; and they couldn't quite sit in the living room comfortably until after dinner, but it would have to do.
