Reed had come into Hogsmeade with his best mate Basil, who was on the outs again with girlfriend. At least he had been until Bridget showed up while the two mates were on their way to Tattered Pages. All it took was a little fluttering of the Head Girly eyelashes and 'Oh, Bazzie' was begging off to take 'Bridge, my rose' to Madam Puddifoot's. RB resisted the temptation to roll his eyes. It wasn't that Reed had forgotten what a pitiful sod he'd been around Mandy before he got to know her. He let Baz go with his blessing. It wasn't as if he wasn't perfectly capable of wandering about Hogsmeade on his own.

The day was cold, but it was really sunny, and Reed was enjoying the walk toward Tattered Pages. He was still searching for more information on becoming an Animagus, such as how to actually go about it. He had some theories, but he'd feel better experimenting if he at least knew he was on the right track. The Headmistress would have his guts for garters if he started messing around and got himself in trouble trying it after she'd told him not to when they'd been working on Human Transfiguration. RB stopped and thought on that for a moment. Professor McGonagall had specifically mentioned Animagi Transformations. He'd been trying something a little different at the time to see if he could... maybe he had been on to something there. He'd think about that later and compare what he was doing then to the theories he was building. In the meantime, he'd see if Tattered Pages had anything. Even if they didn't have anything on Animagi, there was a section of wicked handwritten journals in the back that he loved to look through whenever he was in the shop. He'd purchased a couple that had old spells written in or had interesting accounts of the author's day. Most of them were pretty boring but the good ones were always such gems that he liked browsing through them a lot. His mum had gotten a kick out of one that was full of recipes that required a wand and old cookery methods. Her birthday was coming up and he thought perhaps he could find her something else old and unusual. He nibbled on one of the sweets Mandy had sold him at Honeydukes as he made his way to the used bookshop. He was looking forward to having a butterbeer with Mandy later when her shift was over.
